PRIMARY SECTOR
The industries that work obtaining raw materials (materias primas)
Primary Sector activities are fishing, forestry, mining and farming.
FISHING
Types of fishing:
FORESTRY
It is the science of planting and taking care of large areas of trees.
Problems: If too many trees are cut down, the natural habitat suffers. This is called deforestation.
MINING is the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from the Earth.
FARMING
Arable farming:
Dry crops: grow mainly with rain water, for example, olives, vine and some cereals like wheat
Livestock farming:
extensive → outdoors
outdoors intensive → enclosed

FARMING
Arable farming:

Irrigated crops: need a lot of water, for example, fruit, vegetables and some cereals like rice and maize.
Livestock farming:
extensive → outdoors
outdoors intensive → enclosed
